- Organisation of Forces: US Marine Corps AMTRAC Battalion - the ubiquitous LVTP-5 (Landing Vehicle Tracked, Personnel) or AMTRAC as it is commonly known (amphibious tractor) was used extensively as an armored personnel carrier by the Marines who lacked the M113. AMTRACs were used in a number of roles and despite their obvious bulk and vulnerability, served the Marines well.
