Map showing the paths of attack taken by the relieving forces as they arrived on the scene at FSB Gold. Note how the plan called for C-2/22 IN to attack northwest through the FSB and swing north. The task force main body skirted the wood line moving east and emerged to swing north, immediately spreading out to have room for fire and movement. They continued along the wood line destroying all enemy forces in order to secure the eastern perimeter.
