Production
In order to continue your effort to gain World dominion it is necessary for you to keep producing and repairing the facilities, combat units and supplies that allow you to wage war.
Your ability to run a concise and effective economic strategy is every bit as important as the effort and skill necessary to co-ordinate a military campaign.
Keeping track of what you are producing, where it is and how much of it you have got is made easier for you by the Imperialism Data-Sheet. Your job is made easier by using this feature but does require some investment of time on your part in the form of Book-Keeping.
To be economically successful you will need to concentrate your time and effort on developing your supplies of raw materials and the manufacturing facilities that turn those supplies into effective instruments of War.
Raw Materials
You will require ever-increasing supplies of the basic raw materials;
- Oil: to be refined into fuel for your fleets.
- Iron Ore: to be refined into Steel for use in construction and repairs.
Not only do these raw materials have to be sourced, but they also have to be secured. There are a finite number of raw material producing sites in the World and none of them are in your Homeland. Remember, your enemy is just as keen to secure them for his own use as you are for yours.
Manufacturing
Having a reliable source of raw materials and a growing stockpile is a primary objective but they will not magically transform themselves into anything useful. You also need to become a manufacturing mogul!
Raw materials need to be allocated to construction and repair projects as well as to existing manufacturing facilities which in turn create the military units and supplies necessary for the War effort.
You will need to manage this process of supply and demand. Fortunately the Imperialism Data-Sheet makes this task relatively straight-forward. However, it is a tracking and recording tool and it still remains your responsibility to determine what takes priority when it comes to allocating the scarce resources you have!
You will need to track each and every facility listed on the Facilities page not just in your Homeland but also those facilities that are located overseas.
Of primary importance is the production of steel. You will need ever increasing amounts of steel to build and repair practically everything in Imperialism.
