Land Units

Army Group

armyGroup (1K)

Army Groups bear the brunt of the land battle. An Army Group represents 10,000-troops and is used to fight against enemy Army Groups and Artillery. They can also attack Capital Cities. In fact, to capture an Island the points value of the Capital City has to be reduced to zero and an Army Group must be adjacent as part of the attacking force.

The other essential function of Army Groups is that of building and repairing facilities.

Artillery Group

artillery (1K)

Artillery units are units that can lend fire-support to Army Groups.

An artillery unit does not have to be adjacent to its target but can fire OVER intervening units or terrain and has a range of two-hexes.

Anti-Aircraft Battery

antiAircraft (1K)

Does exactly what it says on the label... defends units and installations against air attacks.

Anti-aircraft batteries can be placed either adjacent to potential targets or stacked in the target hex. They represent the last line of defence prior to the air-attack being resolved.

The effectiveness of anti-aircraft fire is dependent on whether the unit is actually in the target hex or whether it is in an adjacent hex to the target.

Stacking Limits

All land units can be part of a multi-counter stack.

Upto 3-units of any type can be stacked in a single hex. The composition of the stack is entirely up to the owning player

A stack of units attacks with its combined firepower (for more information see Combat).
