Welcome to 'Imperialism'

Imperialism is a quasi-WW2 wargames campaign. It is an amalgamation of a table-top wargame and a board wargame. The objective is world dominion. It is not about the conquest and subjugation of our World but that of another time and place. It is however recognisably 'of' our World.
Two super-powers eye each other suspiciously across an ocean of Islands. The situation is tense. Like a tinder-box it could erupt into a World-of-flames at any moment... and you are the spark that may set off an explosion of expansion and naked aggression!!
As Ruler of one of the super-powers involved, it is your duty to protect and expand your nation's interests. Yet it is more than duty... it is your birthright to be the leader of this World. It is your destiny!
You have the economy and the resources to achieve it. You have the Generalship to lead your forces to ultimate victory. Your people expect it of you. But, do you have the Will to do it?
If the answer is a resounding 'Yes' then enter into the world of Imperialism and realise that destiny...
Wargamers realised long ago that fighting a series of one-off battles, no matter how exciting, soon leads to a sense of aimlessness. Real-life battles have always stemmed from a wider conflict and usually represent only one incident in a connected series of such incidents.
Throughout history, armies have had to be created and maintained and this has involved an economic effort. Raw materials, troops and technologies have had to be harnessed to keep the war-machine going. Invariably this has necessitated either the conquering of those resources from other Nations or their co-operation, forced or otherwise, in order to maintain that Machine.
To simulate this, wargamers have developed the 'Wargame Campaign' in an effort to bring together the elements of grand-strategy in both the economic and military aspects of warfare.
Imperialism is my attempt to chronicle and show-case my Campaign rules and the fun and challange that I am having using them.
Imperialism, as defined by The Dictionary of Human Geography, is "the creation and maintenance of an unequal economic, cultural, and territorial relationship, usually between states and often in the form of an empire, based on domination and subordination". Is it your State that is exerting dominion, or are you going to be the subordinate lackey of another?

I have done as much as I am prepared to do to make these pages display correctly in Internet Explorer. The fact of the matter is that Internet Explorer is a mavarick, non-standards compliant, browser.
It's a simple matter to change from IE to a better and compliant browser by clicking on the 'Spread Firefox' image-link above. I personally use Firefox and can recommend it.
