Accessibility Features
This page gives details of the accessibility features available on this website.
If you have any questions about these features or have a suggestion on how I can improve the accessibility of this site, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Access Keys
You can quickly get to some parts of our site using keyboard shortcuts. The shortcuts available are:
- s – Skip all navigation and go straight to the main content on the page
- 1 – Home page
- 2 – News page
- 4 – Search
- 8 – Terms of use
- 9 – Contact details
- 0 – Accessibility details
If you are using a Windows computer, how you activate the shortcut may depend on which browser you are using.
You’ll either have to press the ALT key at the same time as the shortcut key, or press the ALT key at the same time as the shortcut key and then press the ENTER button.
If you are using a Macintosh, you’ll have to press the CTRL key at the same time as the shortcut key.
Please note that not all browsers support these keyboard shortcuts.
This website uses the UK Government accesskeys standard, which is part of the Illustrated Handbook for Web Management Teams.
Back to TopWeb Standards
This website was designed with web standards. I have used HTML 4.01 Transitional for markup and CSS 2.0 for design and layout. This ensures that the content is accessible to any Internet device. However, design elements such as background images and the page layout will only be available to users of modern visual browsers.
All pages on this website meet at least level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0
